Commander McBragg
Built in 2000, Commander McBragg was designed in 1912 by George Crouch. It was one of the first single plane hulls and because progress in hull design was so rapid at the time, Crouch claimed it was immediately obsolete, leading the builder to wonder if this is the only boat of this design to have been built. It is 19’4” long with a 4’9” beam. The decks are African mahogany and sides are red cedar.
Commander McBragg is powered by a 1936 Ford Flathead V8 and was the winner of three awards at the 2001 Coeur d’Alene Boat Show - Best Racing Runabout/Gentleman's Racer, Most Unique, and the Sheriff's Award. It was donated to the Hydroplane and Race Boat Museum in Kent, Washington.
